Last Week Of League Matches!!!

Lizards 2 travelled to coleraine to take on UUC in their last match of the season hoping it would be a good one, this lived up to expectations with an exciting match for both teams it finished 3-2 to the lizards winning 25-11, 22-25, 25-14, 23-25, and winning the fifth 15-12 all team players played well with only six travelling up especially on serving and spiking!

In the other match on Monday night the Ladies Lizards travelled up to Belfast to take on Queens Ladies. It was a very close affair but Queens eventually won 3-1 but another good preformance by the ladies who are going from step to step

New floor ready

The new floor looks great at the leisure centre with a few minor touches left to complete it! Lizards 2 took on olympia with depleted team and fought well but ending up loosing 3-0 (25-16 in all three sets) now they travel to Coleraine to take on UUC on Monday night and later in that week on friday night the Lizards 1 take on Aztecs 2 and if they win the League championship will be theirs!

Schedule!

Hi all the next mixed tournament will be in April and there is a good chance it will be held at Bangor Leisure centre! There is a 2nd's match this friday with the new floor! it is against olympia! then the following friday the 1st's will be playing there final league match of the season against Aztecs 2 if they will they will have won the NIVA Division 1 Title 2005-2006! so good luck to both teams!

the Lizard's Ladies played Lisburn Masters last night and unfortunately lost 3-0 in the cup semi-final! but who have only played several matches are vastly improving with each match and will be entering the women's league, when it starts again in September!

New Floor Taking Longer Than Expected!

I have contacted the Leisure centre today, unfortunately the hall has been put back until Thursday 23rd March instead of opening again on Monday 20th March. So NO training this monday sorry for the inconviences folks!

Aztecs 2 vrs Lizards 1 is still on Monday 20th March as it is an away match!

Defiant Lizards march on in League Encounter against a strong UUJ team

North Down, Lizards travelled to Jordan's Town last night to take on UUJ in what would probably decide this year's division 1 league title! Lizards and UUJ had both strong teams and with this on paper it was bound to be an excellent encounter between these great clubs!

In fact this lived up to expectation as it went to five sets to decide the winner in which Lizards claimed a "solid" fifth set by winning 15-9 deciding set to take the match 3 sets to 2 over UUJ (3-2)

With only two matches left for Lizards against the same opposition (Aztecs 2 homes & away) by no means this will not be an easy two matches as in over the years Aztecs have proved to be a formidable force in the league

But by winning last night Lizards have now beaten UUJ home and away this season making a consistent and solid preformance in both matches! but it wasn't easy as UUJ have proven time and time again that they will be taken all the way, in fact both matches this season between UUJ and Lizards have gone 2 five sets each But after that barrier out of the way for North Down Lizards will now look forward to continue their good form in to the cup were they take on olympia! :)

Training is as follows- Mondays is club night from 6.45pm-8.15pm
- Fridays is team night form 7.00pm-9.30pm (two courts available)

though there will be no training from Monday 6th March until Thursday 23rd march Training recommences on Friday 24th march!
